I've been in London almost 2 months now, and things have been mostly great.
I say mostly because during those 2 months, my grandmother died

I was happy to be by her side at that moment, but it's been hard.
But I've spent more time with my family recently than I have since before university, so that's been good.
On a happier note, Ula and I have been playing "Dead Space" on PS3. We finished watching the first 6 seasons of 24, and we've caught up on watching "House". We have started watching "Grey's Anatomy". We are "1 series at a time" people, and we like it that way. We don't have cable, but we do have high speed internet, so we download everything without commercials, which is nice. Plus, all our neighbours are older, so I think our Rogers connection is actually achieving somewhere near its theoretical maixmum throughput! That's what happens when your neighbours don't know what a bittorrent is
We have also been hard at work renovating the basement. We stipped the walls back to the bare concrete, and the ceiling to the joists. We've put 2 inch pinkboard on the exterior walls, and have studded almost everything. Later today we'll begin wiring. 14-2 copper, 10/100/1000 ethernet, cable, speaker wire, and phone will be going in everywhere, as will ceiling outlets for the projector and screen. Lots of work, but good times.
Oh, I also got a new nephrologist. He's the top neph dawg in London, and very nice. He switched me from ramipril (bp: 145/92) to avalide (135/80), which has been good. He also told me to start exercising more. So Ula and I started walking every day, and working out on the days when she doesn't have to work... but then the snow came, and I can't really walk on snow/ice. I get really nervous, because if I twist my ankle again, I might not be able to walk again. My break was that serious.... SO, I got all proactive, and bought a treadmill. A big sturdy good one from a store that only sells treadmills! A year ago I did a lot of running in Toronto, and actually enjoyed it, but all the commuting to London brought that to a standstill, literally. Now that I have my own "running room" about 20 feet away, I'm going to get back into it. w00t!
Also, although I haven't been blogging, I have been
twittering. I also whipped up this cool
Lifecast RSS Feed using
Yahoo! Pipes, which are hella-cool. It tells you everything I've been upto online. My tweets from twitter, my facebook statuses, my amazon wishlist items, my new favourite YouTube clips, my flickr pics, my personal blog posts, my geek/techie blog posts, and what's currently playing on my iTunes! Check it out.
Now... what to get Ula for Christmas... hmmmmmmm
