Welcome to Wired Woman
Something feel different about Wired Woman? It's Wired Woman 2.0!
What's that, you say? Wired Woman realized an exciting revitalization of the organization this year. Honing in on our strengths is what will allow us to grow and flourish and for this reason, Wired Woman has decided to get back to basics. This coming year we will place an increased focus on our already thriving mentorship program in Vancouver, and aim to develop one in Toronto as well.
This past summer brought with it the good news that another winning bid for financial sponsorship was made by the BC Government. In addition, a partnership letter has been signed with the Community MicroSkills Development Centre in Toronto, with the key objective of establishing a Wired Woman mentorship program for the women we serve in our respective communities. The easiest way to advance in your career is to learn from those who have already done it; this is why, with a focus on mentorship, our networking events will be even more valuable than before.
Network. Educate. Mentor. Three words that have guided Wired Woman since it’s inception; three words that symbolize the most important benefits of an organization such as ours; and three words that remain the foundation of Wired Woman. Become a Wired Woman member...it's free! Join now!
Looking for help crafting your career path or someone to talk to who’s in the industry? Wired Woman members are invited to apply to our 6-month mentorship program. We place a limited number of Wired Woman members in mentoring relationships. Mentors meet with mentees at least one hour, monthly, for the duration of the mentoring relationship. This program is for women entering or re-entering the work-force and targets women requiring career guidance. This career mentorship experience is enhanced with networking events and education workshops. Click here to apply to the mentorship program.
Wired Woman makes a difference by providing real opportunities for our members and volunteers to gain exposure to an industry that otherwise often seems intimidating and confusing to people. We provide training and networking opportunities, and resources that help our members learn more about the many opportunities available in this sector.
